Top places to see in Cancun and best plane tickets

Top travel locations to visit in Cancun, Mexico and cheap flights? One of the most unusual points of interest in this resort town is the Cancún Underwater Museum (MUSA). Set up in 2009 in the wake of storm damage to the Cancún National Marine Park, this seabed-based attraction is dedicated to the “art of conservation” and is a delight for divers to explore. The core of this unique art collection are the more than 500 sculptures spread across two underwater galleries (a few are located on land in a nearby mall) submerged at depths of between three and six meters and encompassing human figures in a variety of poses (there’s even a concrete car). Put together by six artists from Mexico and Britain, the sculptures will ultimately form the basis for new coral reefs. A variety of guided snorkeling and diving tours area available. If diving is not your thing, this remarkable collection can be viewed from the comfort of one of the many glass-bottom tour boats that ply the waters.

Experience a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to swim with dolphins, sea lions, manatees, and sting rays, in the warm waters of Isla Mujeres, while learning about each one from the knowledgeable marine mammal specialists. Dolphin Discovery offers several exciting packages ranging from 95 USD to 205 USD per person, each including experiences that will last you a lifetime. For those of you who enjoy the finer things in life, Dolphin Discovery also offers a VIP Dolphin Lounge, where you can cool off in the infinity pool and enjoy a seafood buffet and thirst-quenching drinks from the bar. Punta Sur is a popular tourist site, located on the southern tip of the island, 65 feet (19.8 meters) above sea level and boasting incredible views of Cancun in the distance. While the views alone are simply majestic, Punta Sur also has a sculpture park that was created to embody the Mayan Civilization. If you choose to visit Punta Sur and the southern tip of Isla Mujeres, make sure to bring your camera!

Day Trip to Isla Contoy: Isla Contoy is located 30 km north of Isla Mujeres. This natural wildlife reserve and bird sanctuary is 9 km long and 20 metres wide and was declared a National Park in 1998. Isla Contoy is one of the most important areas in Mexico for nesting sea birds and sea turtles. There is a maximum of 200 tourists allowed to visit on a daily basis. A day tour starts from $75 per person click here for more information. Go Fishing: The turquoise blue waters off Isla Mujeres are perfect for deep-sea fishing, inshore fishing and spear fishing. The best months for sailfish and marlin are from mid-December through to July. If you enjoy tuna fishing the best months are between April and August. Depending on what type of fishing you enjoy the most, there are many charter operators that will cater for your needs, ranging from charter boats to private yacht tours.

Cancún flights and airport services are usually a very satisfactory experience – in 2011, the airport received an award for Best Airport in Latin America by Airports Council International. With 4 terminals and 2 parallel runaways used simultaneously, Cancún flights cater to more than 20 destinations within the country and fly to over 30 international destinations, primarily parts of America and Europe. Cancun is a haven for water sports enthusiasts and it’s the perfect place to learn scuba diving. There are many underwater attractions in the area. Cancun is located close to the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, the second largest reef in the world. Home to dolphins, many kinds of tropical fish, eels, lobsters, nurse sharks, and majestic eagle rays. Isla Mujeres, the underwater MUSA museum, and nearby cenotes are favorite spots. There are several locations where newbies can learn scuba diving and get their PADI license.

Conceived by Jason deCaires Taylor, Isla Mujeres is home to the largest underwater museum on earth. The clear waters off Isla Mujeres make a great place to scuba dive or snorkel while seeing how thousands of underwater sculptures change in time in regards to coral growth and marine interaction. The scope of the project is mind blowing and the combination of art and marine conservation is great to see.

Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula is famous for its amazing cenotes, natural pools formed in limestone caves. The entire Riviera Maya is covered with thousands of cenotes, many of them you can swim in. Cenotes are created when the limestone surface collapses, creating an opening into the Yucatan’s large underground river system. Most people visit them to go swimming, scuba diving or snorkeling. Some of the best cenotes near Cancun are located along the Ruta De Cenotes (Cenote Route) near the city of Puerto Morelos, about a 30-minute drive away. Here you’ll find Cenote La Noria, Verde Lucero, Cenote Mojarras, and Cenote Selvatica among many others. My favorite was Verde Lucero, which has its own zipline! Find even more information on here.

Tourist question: London tap water quality : safe to drink or not?

An important question than all travelers ask themselves: Is tap water in London safe in 2020? In this post we will see that London’s tap water is safe to drink so you have nothing to worry about and focus on visiting London’s amazing travel attractions. And we will also give you an overview of the main London travel attractions you can visit!

Lead poisoning is a fear for many. While lead poisoning is not as common as the media often portrays, the most recent case was the contamination experienced in Montreal, Canada in 2019. Lead poisoning in known to cause Cardiovascular effects, increased blood pressure and incidence of hypertension. Decreased kidney function. Fluoride is a compound that is generally desired in water for its numerous health benefits. However, if the concentration levels are higher that 1 mg/L it is reported to cause molting of teeth, lesion of endocrine glands, thyroid, liver and other organs.

The TDS level of water refers to the Total Dissolved Solids present in the water. These solids can range from trace minerals such as Calcium, magnesium and potassium to heavy metals such as copper or mercury. The TDS level is commonly considered as an indication of London water hardness. The higher the TDS value is, the harder tap water is in London. The WHO prescribes that the water is excellent if less than 300 mg/litre; good, between 300 and 600 mg/litre; fair, between 600 and 900 mg/litre; poor, between 900 and 1200 mg/litre; bad and unacceptable, greater than 1200 mg/litre. The data provided seems to indicate that all these metrics are present in safe quantities in London. Discover more details at Is tap water in London safe to drink?.

And now let’s move on with the funny part, the travel attractions! There’s also popular Hampstead Heath in the northwest, one of the city’s most-loved green spaces, which boasts great views. There are swimming ponds to cool off during summer and plenty of space to stretch out. It might seem odd to visit London and spend your time in a park, given there are parks and green spaces right across the world. I did not appreciate how valuable proximity to green spaces would be until I had been in London for several months. When it is a nice day, these spaces really come alive, as people from all walks of life enjoy them peacefully together. The novelty of walking barefoot across the grass and grabbing a cheeky nap in the sunshine after a lovely picnic lunch is one of my favorite things to do on a nice day.

Meet the animals at ZSL London Zoo. The inhabitants include penguins, lions, meerkats, reptiles and gorillas. See the animals in action at daily talks and displays – including giraffe high tea and otter snack time. Take in the stunning architecture of iconic London landmark, Westminster Abbey and find out about the part it played in British history. Explore the setting for ceremonial events, including royal weddings, coronations and funerals.

Hydratation is very important for a tourist. We recommend the strongest and most durable glass bottle on the market, ideal for your daily adventures. Senegal attractions and air flights connections

Senegal attractions and the best airlines to get there? Lake Retba, known almost universally as Lac Rose, is Senegal’s very own Dead Sea. Situated 29 kilometres north-east of Dakar, this shallow lake is so named because its remarkably high salt content turns the water varying shades of pink. What’s more, due to the much higher density of the water, taking a dip is more bobbing like a human buoy than sinking like a stone. Go for the day, settle into a lakeside restaurant, ride a camel or a quadbike on the adjacent beach, and then wallow on your back without the need of an inflatable.

The Senegalese capital is famed for its nightlife, with countless clubs and bars offering the chance to experience the country’s legendary Mbalax music scene. Dakar is also a hub for West African art, with several world-class museums and galleries. In particular, IFAN Museum of African Arts is a must-see, with fascinating displays of colorful masks, carvings, instruments and more. With plenty of street markets, restaurants, and nearby beaches to choose from, Dakar has something for everyone.

Les Memalles is the oldest lighthouse in Africa. Cool breeze, squeaking seagulls and the taste of salt in the air… From the African Renaissance Monument, it is located at a 20 minute walk distance. The road leading to the light house curves around a steep hill multiple times so it is not an easy walk. On the way, you can take a quick stop at the small café Melo’s Patisserie aux Mamelles to snack upon and rest. The lighthouse building is quite old but well taken care of, it is covered with beautiful ivys and flowers with different colors. The entrance fee is 500 CFAs for tourists. Discover additional details on https://www.acgroupvoyages.com/.

Walk to the south of Dakar to find a peaceful, spectacular beach area which is widely popular as Petit Cote. This exquisite coastal region stretches more than 150 km. Watch eye-catching golden sandy beaches and spellbinding Atlantic waters and spend a pleasant time on the beach. You can find here some of the biggest tourist oriented towns, namely Saly Portugal and Mbour, and some wonderful hotels. Explore beautiful green areas. And, enjoy playing golf on the golf courses. Don’t miss visiting the Saloum Delta National Park that streatches over 76,000 hectares in the western area of the Senegal. It features outstanding biodiversity. You can find here fishes, various species of birds, savanna, and mangrove forests.

Premium whitetail deer hunting in Texas and hunting guides

Premium turkey hunting in Texas with hunting guides? When fall weather is consistently warm, finding an area where temperatures are just a few degrees cooler be all that’s needed to get on an active buck. If you hunt hilly or mountainous terrain, focus your efforts on shaded north slopes, which offer deer both lower temperatures and cooling breezes that keep insects at bay. Moreover, in the wake of dry summer conditions, mast trees on north slopes tend to bear more and better fruit. If your hunting grounds are chalkboard-flat, on the other hand, concentrate on areas where a dense canopy of mature trees provides plenty of shade.

Hunt Plan: Sit all day, or for as long as possible, in your best terrain funnels near doe bedding areas or security cover. If you know bucks are visiting a doe feeding area, don’t hesitate to put out a decoy and/or call and rattle aggressively. When deer aren’t on their feet due to hunting pressure or because they’re tending does, take the action to them by still-hunting or organizing a drive. Deer Behavior: Exhausted from the rut and pressured by hunters, bucks focus on eating and staying alive. They generally reduce their movements to a simple bed-to-feed pattern.

We had a great time this past weekend. The owner and his family are hard working, salt of the earth people, who want their customers to leave happy. They treat you like a friend instead of a client. The cabins were clean and comfortable, and the ranch is covered with game. We saw deer, turkey and hogs every day. I would definitely recommend B4 Hunting Adventures for your next hunt. Find more info on Best Guided Hunts Texas.

Tyler Porter, Ken-Tenn Hunting Outfitters: In Kentucky, scouting in August means a lot of glassing and watching fields. It’s key to know where deer are entering fields and what types of deer—bucks or does—are using that field. I also look at the bean plants themselves. Often, in parts of the field, the beans have been eaten down to nothing. That tells me deer are using that area most. It might be a good spot to hang a stand or an area to observe further at a respectable distance. Kentucky’s season starts the first Saturday in September, so our pre-season scouting is critical to our September velvet hunts. In the two or three weeks leading up to the opener, we back off the farms as much as possible and put little to no pressure on deer, except to fill up feeders.

The B4 Ranch is still operating within the original family and is full of interesting family history. This old bus is a random piece of history on this family ranch. As the story goes, in previous generations this was used as shelter to wait out the Wild West Texas storms. There was no way to escape hail storms if you were deep into the ranch on horseback. At a later date, it was used for ranch hands to camp in if they stayed out fixing fences, etc. Find more details at 5 Star Texas Hunting Ranch.

Top destinations in the Los Angeles and the top moving companies

Top travel locations to visit in Los Angeles and the best moving services firms? Here are a few advices from our favorite Los Angeles moving company. Decluttering before you sell means that you only move what you really need – and you will not only save money by doing so, but you will also save time in the new house by not having to unpack and deal with all that stuff in the future. If the rental agency doesn’t provide an estimate of what the trucks can hold in terms of equivalent spaces as in the list above, you can guess using this general guide: one room = 3 cubic feet of truck space. Again, this is just an estimate, and you should always err on the side of caution and rent a slightly larger truck than your estimate.

One of the largest municipal parks in the United States, Griffith Park offers a welcome escape from L.A. traffic. In addition to acres of hilly trails and green spaces, the park is home to a broad array of fun-filled attractions, from the Los Angeles Zoo to the outdoor Greek Theatre. It’s also the location of one of the city’s most iconic landmarks: the Griffith Observatory. Built in 1935, the beautiful Art Deco complex boasts dozens of engaging exhibits, an out-of-this-world planetarium and multiple telescopes available for public use. A visit to the observatory at dusk offers views of stars emerging in the sky above and the twinkling lights of the city below.

Take a look behind your living room TV. What do you see? Chances are it’s a mass of wires and plugs – working perfectly for you but confusing to say the least. A really great tip is to get some coloured stickers** and stick the same colour to each socket and each end of the cable – so that you can easily set everything technical up in your new home. To go one step further – why not take a photo of the setup so you can have a visual reminder as well. Once you’ve decluttered your personal belongings and have a rough idea of what you’ll be taking, now you should book your removal company. You could attempt to do it yourself, but it would be a lot of added stress and time. The removal company will have many years’ experience of carefully packing, handling and loading delicate and heavy items so they arrive safely at your new house.

Does everything fit your new home? Furniture that is in your existing home may well not fit into your new home, and it’s best to know this up front so you can sell it / donate it before you move. Take some time to measure doorways etc. and work out whether the larger items of furniture (your sofa/dresser etc.) will fit into your new space. There would be nothing worse than leaving a sofa on the front garden on moving day! TIP – This is also a useful exercise for working out whether you have suitable space for all your furniture. If you are downsizing it’s worth working out what can and cannot fit into your new home, and sorting these out before moving day This is a great tip for when you’re moving. Grab a black bin-liner bag and gather your hanging clothes. Put a rubber band around the hangers for some extra support if you want. Once you get to your new home, hang up your clothes and remove the bag. Easy as pie! Find extra details at REAL RocknRoll Movers offering COVID-FRIENDLY LA moving services!.

Located in stunning Griffith Park – LA’s largest public green space, spanning over 4,000 acres, and a popular LA attraction in itself – the Griffith Observatory sits on the southern face of Mount Hollywood and boasts some of the best views of the city, including downtown and the Hollywood Sign. Opened in 1935, the Griffith Observatory offers free-to-use telescopes, exhibitions and a high-tech planetarium. Admission to the Observatory and its grounds is free, but there is a small charge for tickets to the planetarium shows. Far more than an open-air mall, The Grove is nothing less than an LA institution. This shopping destination is home to a plethora of stores – from Nordstrom to Anthropologie and Apple – restaurants, bars, a movie theater and even an American Girl doll café. For a snack and a moment of respite, pop into Sprinkles for a cupcake or Groundwork for a dose of caffeine. Along with shopping, The Grove is known for celebrity sightings and the iconic trolley that ferries guests from one end of the mall to the other. Adjacent to The Grove is the Original Farmer’s Market, which dates back to 1934 and is a hotspot for fresh produce and high-quality food vendors.

The simplest way to choose your rental truck size is to eliminate possibilities that do not exist in your situation. For example, if you have chosen to utilize Budget Truck you will only have three available size options: 10′, 16′ and 24′. In case you’re wondering, 94% of people relocating with a rental truck choose their company based on price or geographical limitations. With that in mind we can assume that most people will have between 3 and 5 truck size options to choose from depending on which company is being used. For your upcoming move you have decided to rent a moving truck but have no clue what truck size you should get – Sound like you? If you search the web you will find many references and opinions, some extremely generic (14′ will move 1-2 bedrooms) and others offering a more advanced opinion (12 ft. truck = 450 cu. ft.). The problem, we believe at least, lies in the interpretation of information provided – 1-2 bedrooms may mean something completely different in Arizona than in New York City.

Los Angeles is an incredible location, so much movie stars power, a must see for any travel fan. Universal Studios is an incredibly fun amusement park themed around how movies are made, making it a favorite amid L.A. tourist attractions. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, an attraction which debuted in 2016, immerses visitors in the beloved world that J.K Rowling created. The thrilling tram tour is the park’s signature ride, and the park’s many other experiences immerse you into famous movies and TV shows. Just outside the park is the admission-free CityWalk, a neon-lit pedestrian enclave of shops, restaurants, live entertainment, movie theaters, and nightlife. For more than 100 years, the Santa Monica Pier has been one of the most iconic Los Angeles landmarks. Its 90-foot-tall Ferris wheel lights up at night, while below it bustles an arcade, a roller coaster, a carousel, and several seafood stands and restaurants. If you’re not a fan of the thrill rides, you can walk along the pier for its impressive views over the Pacific. Within easy walking distance is lively Third Street Promenade, a pedestrian street full of restaurants, street entertainers, movie theaters, and inviting stores.

NO TRUCK FEES. NO STAIR FEES. NO LONG CARRY FEES. EVER. Don’t get “nickel and dimed” by the other “corporate-type” Los Angeles moving companies – All of our pricing is simple and up front.. REAL RocknRoll Movers is here during the pandemic to help you move your home, apartment or office. Our moving company takes extra special care to follow strict CDC guidelines including masks and gloves, wiping down important surfaces, and more. Yachting places and boat sailing tips

Looking for the best yacht sailing destinations in the world? Synonymous with romance, culture and rustic charm, the Amalfi Coast is one of the darlings of the Mediterranean. This region is worth a visit for those in search of timeless beauty, proper Italian dining and UNESCO-listed heritage. Begin on the south side of the coast with a trip inland to Ravello, a medieval village that sits at dizzying heights above the sea- take a walk around the gardens of Villa Rufolo, then enjoy a meal at Palazzo Avino overlooking the mountains and the sea. Evening aperitifs are best enjoyed at Le Sirenuse, a chic hotel in Positano decked out in colourful majolica tiles with a terrace that offers unbeatable views over the town. Then, be sure to head down to the commune of Nerano to dine at one of two celebrity-approved restaurants; Lo Scoglio da Tommaso and La Conca del Sogno.

Sailing tip of the day: One of the ancient arts of the sailor is setting up a “stopper” to relieve a loaded rope without letting anything go. The classic use for a stopper is to take the weight off the genoa sheet when Cousin Doofus has carelessly locked up the whole shooting match with an override. My crew recently used the stopper shown below. It took the load at the turning block while we sorted out the mess. Then we wound the sheet in a few inches to relieve the force on the stopper, removed it and sailed on. To create a stopper that works, clap on a half-hitch before the rolling hitch as shown. You can see it doing the work, and it guarantees success. If you can’t tie a rolling hitch, go on the internet and learn how. You may need it sooner than you think!

This is a much more touristy option but the Balearics still make a beautiful European sailing destination, and you can avoid the crowds if you know-how. The cluster of Spanish islands include Ibiza, Mallorca, Menorca and Formentera; all major holiday spots known for their sun-drenched beaches and sparkling blue waters. Also include a few stops to the pretty, unspoilt towns of Deia in Mallorca and the secluded Ibizan bay of Cala Llentrisca. Discover additional details at https://intersailclub.com/.

When visiting Italy, especially the south, you can enjoy a multitude of islands and coastal destinations that are within easy reach of each other. Sailing around here is fairly easy and sheltered. Few attractions include Isla Taboga is Panama’s favorite escape out of the city to bathe in its sandy beaches, ride Jet Ski’s, speed boats and fishing charters. First settled by the Spanish in 1515, Isla Taboga has a charming village with the second-oldest church in the western hemisphere, a few narrow streets with a few restaurants and great views to Panama City from the top of the Island.

One of the very few places in Panama where you can watch the sun set over the Pacific Ocean, the Sunset Coast is an undiscovered area with small towns, wide open beaches, and a small number of lodges where you can get away from the tourist scene. This is rural Panama, home to rolling hills, small villages, family farms, and huge beaches lined by palms and forest. Foreign tourists are not plentiful the way they are in other areas of the country, and many of the visitors are Panamanian. The road down to the Sunset Coast from the Pan-American Highway is twisty and has a few potholes to dodge, but every mile takes you further off the beaten track. This area is also popular with surfers. The wide-open beaches take the brunt of the Pacific Ocean rollers, and it’s rare that you’ll need to share a wave. If you want a beach all to yourself, this is the place to come.

Xian and China travel attractions and regional tours

China travel attractions and regional tours? Bell & Drum Towers In Chinese history from Ming Dynasty, each city had a bell tower and a drum tower. The bell was sounded at dawn and the drum at dusk each day in ancient time, a means of telling time and coming alerts. Xian was not exception. The Bell Tower and Drum Tower of Xi’an date back to the Ming dynasty (1368-1644). The two are located in the center of the Xian city connecting the four roads from east, south, west and north within the city wall. Atop the Bell Tower you will have a panoramic view of the Xian City; atop the Drum Tower you will have a bird’s eye view of the Muslim Quarters.

A less-than-five-minute journey from shore to shore, the Star Ferry is the swiftest and cheapest way to travel between Tsim Sha Tsui and Central or Wan Chai. Despite its short length, the journey still feels leisurely, helped in no small part by the cooling breeze. And you’ll also get some truly spectacular views of Hong Kong’s skyline – essentially front-row seats to Victoria Harbour. Cameras at the ready people – city vistas don’t get much better than this.

China is a fascinating location if you are looking for adventure and ancient history exploration. It was while digging wells on the outskirts of Xi’an in the 1970s that farmers stumbled across what was to be China’s most important archeological find: the Terracotta Army. Distributed over three large underground pits and built to guard the First Emperor’s tomb were more than 8,000 life-size warriors, some 520 horses, and more than 100 chariots, along with numerous other non-military characters dating from around 280 BC. Although some were severely damaged due to the passing of time, many of the statues unearthed have been painstakingly re-assembled and stand as testament to the importance bestowed upon the emperor and the afterlife. The site — part of the Emperor Qin Shi Huang’s Mausoleum Site Park — is one of China’s most important tourist destinations and offers the unforgettable experience of standing in front of this assembly of soldiers and horses as if inspecting a centuries-old parade. See more information on Xian tours.

Echoing Sand Mountain is a series of dunes surrounding Crescent Lake. Named for its distinctive shape and aural characteristics, its echoes can be heard as the wind blows over the dunes. Visitors ride camels up the dunes, which rise to 250 meters. With gardens blooming on its banks, Crescent Lake offers a lovely visual counterpoint to all that sand. Echoing Sand Mountain and Crescent Lake is six kilometers south of Dunhuang. China Southern operates a daily return flight between Xi’an Xianyang Airport and Dunhuang Airport. Air China flies between Beijing and Dunhuang once a day.

Located in the very heart of Beijing, magnificent Forbidden City, also known as Imperial Palace Museum, is the symbol of imperial power. Built in Yongle Period, Ming Dynasty (1406 – 1420 AD), it is the largest and well-preserved wooden building complex of the world. These were laid out very precisely in accordance with a feudal code of architectural hierarchy which designated specific features for reflecting the paramount authority and status of the emperor. Forbidden City can be taken as a sample of the traditional Chinese palatial architecture. In 1987, it became a World Heritage Site. Besides, it is also listed by UNESCO as the largest collection of preserved ancient wooden structures in the world.

Tiger Leaping Gorge is situated on the Yangtze River in southwestern China. About 15 km (9 miles) in length, the canyon passes through a series of rapids surrounded by mountains on both sides that sharply rise 3,000 meters (10,000 feet) above the river. It is believed to be the deepest canyon in the world – depending on the criteria applied. The hiking trail through the gorge is one of the most accessible and satisfying in China, with dramatic scenery. The hike is not to be taken lightly though. Even for those in good physical shape, it’s a workout and can certainly wreck the knees. Accommodation along the way is in guesthouses, so hikers won’t need a tent. Suzhou is a picturesque city located on the Grand Canal about 65 km (40 miles) from Shanghai. It is famous for its silks, the canals that run through the city, and for its classical gardens with their fish ponds and rockeries. Suzhou has about 80 classical gardens; the Humble Administrator’s Garden is among the most famous. A canal boat ride is a good way to experience the exquisiteness of Suzhou. Gritti Palace, Venice: A 15th-century palazzo turned decadent luxury hotel, design supremo Chuck Chewning was behind the palace’s elaborate renovation, adding to the already elaborate high Venetian Baroque design with layers of silk, marble and Murano glass. Today more living art museum than luxury hotel, a stay here requires time dedicated to admiring the acres of marble from floor to ceiling, the priceless chandeliers, and oak parquet, and custom Rubelli silks. Beyond all the interior splendor, Gritti Palace’s most magnificent jewel lies beyond its windows — direct views of the Grand Canal. Ogle it from canal-facing rooms or classically Venetian Club del Doge restaurant or seasonal terrace, one of the most coveted tables in Venice. A cocktail in the elaborate Bar Longhi is essential (named for the Italian master whose paintings hang in the bar), as is a treatment in the Acqua di Parma spa or a cooking class at the hotel’s famed culinary school. Not as large as the Museo de la Nacion, the National Archaeology, Anthropology, and History Museum does an excellent job of exploring the history of Peru from prehistoric times to the colonial era. The displays are well organized, and you won’t be overwhelmed by the amount of material, making it easier to understand. The variety is impressive, too, with priceless examples of ceramics, figural stone carvings, obelisks, wrapped mummies, burial tombs, jewelry, tapestries, and gold and metal work, many shown with scale models of the archeological sites. The ceramic collection features pieces, which date from 2800 BC, and among the carved obelisks are the granite Tello Obelisk and the famous Estela Raimondi. Parents should be aware that some of the ceramic figures may not be suitable for children. Included with the museum is the adjacent home, once occupied by both Jose de San Martin and Simon Bolivar.

Ett Hem, Stockholm: The greatest luxury of this coveted Östermalm sleep is its exclusivity. Comprising just 12 bedrooms, the hotel is booked almost year-round by a loyal following of repeat visitors who consider this their home away from home. (Fittingly, Ett Hem translates to “at home.”) Designer Ilse Crawford worked her high-style-meets-home-comforts magic on the bedrooms and public spaces, with oak, Gotland stone, and sheepskin contrasting with bold contemporary artwork and traditional Swedish column fireplaces. The walled garden is the place to be during the long, late summer nights, and guests (and non-guests) are invited to dine in the kitchen, library or greenhouse throughout the year. Unusual for a small hotel, there’s a state-of-the-art gym that’s open 24 hours a day, as well as a small wellness room where you can unwind on the hot stone slab or organize a traditional Swedish massage.
